PGA TOUR Canada | Fortinet Cup

PGA TOUR Canada is professional golf tour that offers a series of tournaments played primarily in Canada each summer, where tomorrow’s stars begin the path to the PGA TOUR. Since 2013, 54 players have graduated to the PGA TOUR accounting for 16 wins by 14 players, including Canadians Nick Taylor, Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes, with other stars such as Tony Finau, Joel Dahmen and CT Pan joining the winner’s circle.

All year, players will compete for the Fortinet Cup, a points-based race that rewards the top performers with Korn Ferry Tour membership for the following season. In addition, players will play for a $100,000 bonus pool provided by Fortinet.

PGA TOUR Canada’s mission is to deliver a PGA TOUR experience for our members, fans, volunteers and its partners in order to develop the future stars of professional golf and enrich the communities the Tour visits. PGA TOUR Canada and its tournaments have raised $5.4 million for charities across Canada.

Volunteer

Want to volunteer at the Prince Edward Island Open? Click the registration button below and sign up today. Browse all available positions.

Cart Host (Tuesday & Wednesday)

These individuals will help with the Kane-Simmonds Classic. Each individual will have a designated cart and will act as a team’s host while out on the course – providing food, beverage, etc to the participating amateurs and professionals. Great opportunity to chat and get to know a PGA TOUR Canada professional!

Walking Scorers (Thursday - Sunday)

These individuals will walk 18 holes with a designated group and input each player’s score and stroke trail (i.e. where the player hit from—tee, fairway, bunker, green, etc.) into a scoring device. Volunteers should have a strong golf knowledge and are comfortable with basic technology. Must be able to walk 10km.

Leaderboards (Thursday - Sunday)

There are three (3) manually operated leaderboards located around the golf course. Volunteers will use tablets to look up live scoring information and replicate that information on a manual leaderboard.

Standard Bearers (Saturday & Sunday)

Standard Bearers walk with the group and the walking scorer, posting each competitor in the groups score (To Par) on a standard for spectators to see. This is a physically demanding position, as you will be required to walk a minimum of 18 holes and carry a standard.

Scoring Central (Thursday - Sunday)

This group will be located in a stationary position within the clubhouse and are responsible for managing the TOUR’s Shotlink scoring system. These volunteers will ensure that scores inputted by Walking Scorers are accurate and transmit ruling requests to Rules Officials. Volunteers should have a strong knowledge of golf and be highly efficient with computers.

Player Shuttle (Thursday - Sunday)

These individuals will shuttle PGA TOUR Canada Professionals from hole #2 to #3 on Dundarave during tournament play.

Marshals (Thursday - Sunday)

These individuals are primarily stationary and work to control spectators on the golf course, and assist players with locating tee shots.

Billet (Monday - Sunday)

Billets shall provide players with a private room, proper bed (no futons or pull-out couches), access to a bathroom/shower and the kitchen, and transportation to the Dundarave Golf Course. Although very appreciated by the players, all other amenities (i.e. full access to the house, cooked meals, etc.) are optional and considered above and beyond. Billets should also be located within 20 minutes of the golf course. This might be your chance to meet the next Mike Weir or Corey Conners!
